Mike Paustian is a 6th-generation farmer from Walcott. He and his family have a farrow-to-finish hog farm and grow corn and soybeans using conservation practices such as no-till, cover crops and saturated buffers to help improve water quality. He received a Ph.D. in microbiology and worked as a research scientist before returning to the farm. Mike lives and farms in the Hickory Creek watershed.
