In Search of Cinderblocks!
In 2020, Partners of Scott County Watersheds adopted the Crow Creek Wildlife Management Area near Mt. Joy in partnership with the Iowa DNR. We are working on a management plan to clear out invasive species, overgrown brush, and trash to make this area more accessible and appealing for fishing and hunting activities.
Our first step is to remove some trees from the area and sink them into the pond to turn them into natural fish habitat. We are in need of cinder blocks to tie to the trees to keep them at the bottom of the pond.
If you have cinder blocks that you would like to donate for this project, please email [email protected]. Stay tuned for information on volunteer cleanup projects at Crow Creek in 2021!
