June’s forum speaker is Mike Paustian, a 6th generation farmer from Walcott, IA. He and his family have a farrow-to-finish hog farm near Walcott, Iowa, where they also grow corn and soybeans. He earned a PhD in microbiology from the University of Minnesota after which he worked as a research scientist before returning to the family farm. He currently serves as President of the Iowa Pork Producers Association.Mike will discuss conservation practices being utilized on his farm, including cover crops, saturated buffers, and drones.
