Iowa Turtle Population Status
Turtles play an important role in our watersheds by cleaning up aquatic systems. This presentation will focus on the life history, ecology, population dynamics, role as indicator species, and influence on water quality of Iowa’s turtle populations. The recently enacted harvest regulations will also be discussed.
Chad Dolan began work with the Iowa DNR in 2008. He holds a B.S. in Biology (Aquatic Science Emphasis) from UW-La Crosse and a M.S. in Wildlife & Fisheries Science from Mississippi State University.
